Welcome. My name is Peter Bissett and I’m the Founder of Island Escape Cruises. If you’re a first time visitor, you might be asking; “What is Island Escape?” I’m glad you asked...
We are a small-ship, niche adventure cruise company operating wildlife, wilderness, and scenic small ship cruises within the most beautiful regions of New Zealand during the summer (southern) months from November through April. For the winter (southern) months from May to October we call the beautiful islands of Tahiti our home.
The best comparison might be to think of us as a ship-based version of a luxury lodge. We combine pristine wilderness, exotic islands, amazing wildlife, luxurious accommodation, exceptional service, chef-prepared gourmet meals, expert guides, freedom from roads and routes most travelled, and the enticing adventure of never knowing what’s around the next corner.
Our passenger vessel is the 140’ (42m) purpose built steel catamaran, Island Passage. We accommodate just 24 guests onboard who are served by our 10 professional crew. Our guests generally are active adventurers, independent travellers, photographers, families and corporate groups.
An Island Escape cruise, as some will already know, is truly memorable. You will be assured of the best of service from a hand-picked debonaire crew for whom supreme attention is the norm. Many of our guests are multi-repeat travellers and their continual support is not easily won. We provide an absolutely unique 24-passenger experience, in a child-free environment, that simply is not available on larger vessels. Our inclusions cover luxury cabins and suites, superb cuisine, a full bar service with wine, spirits and beers, airport transfers, all shore excursions, helicopter flights, kayaks, paddle boards, motor boats, snorkel and fishing gear to name a few on our list.
Exquisite Fiordland National Park and the pristine Bay of Islands make up our summer season from December through April in New Zealand while we call the beautiful tropical islands of Tahiti our home from May through to October. We welcome the opportunity to welcome you onboard to 'explore new horizons'.
