If you’re a first time visitor, you might be asking; What is Island Escape? We are a small-ship, niche adventure cruise company operating wildlife, wilderness, and scenic small ship cruises within the most beautiful regions of New Zealand during the southern hemisphere summer months, from November through April. For the southern hemisphere winter months, from May to October, we call Tahiti and these beautiful islands our home.
Our passenger vessel is the 140 foot - 42metre purpose built steel catamaran, Island Passage. We accommodate just 24 guests onboard who are served by our 10 professional crew. Our guests generally are active adventurers, independent travellers, photographers, families and corporate groups. Many of our guests are multi-repeat travellers and their continual support is not easily won. We provide an absolutely unique experience, in a child-free environment, that simply is not available on larger vessels. Our inclusions cover luxury cabins and suites, superb cuisine, a full complimentary bar with wine, spirits and beers, airport transfers, all shore excursions, helicopter flights, kayaks, paddle boards, motor boats, snorkel and fishing gear to name a few on our list.

We are undertaking a major refit and refurbishment of the 'Island Passage' during annual maintenance in New Zealand during October, 2016.
From October 2016, a great new LANAI is being added on the bridge deck. Here you will settle into comfortable seating modelled after colonial raffles sofas to never miss a minute of the ever-changing seascape. Traditional teak furniture and steamer chairs add to the comfort and ambience of this additional alfresco lounge/relaxing area.
Staterooms are to be renamed CASTAWAY Cabins and will undergo a full remodelling; full size wardrobes, upgraded en-suites, writing desks and new carpet. Ocean Suites become HIDEAWAY Suites and will receive upgraded en-suites and an extra queen bed arrangement to meet ever growing demand. Bridge Suites become RUNAWAY Suites with an additional suite being added to this selection on the promenade deck.
