New ZealanD-South PACIFIC-JAPAN Cruises

Island Escape Cruises is continuing with replacement ships for our Fiordland and South Pacific business following the sale of the original 'Island Passage'. This will likely be completed in mid 2018. Meanwhile we are focusing our full attention onto the new ship programs and will be releasing ships and schedules once details are completed.

Island Escape Cruises is a luxurious small ship cruising experience that resembles the wonderful days I have spent on my own yacht. I love the feeling one has from strolling barefoot on teak decks, tasting selected fine wines at sunset and enjoying gourmet dining with a handful of close friends while sharing the thrill of new experiences every day.

To celebrate our 12th anniversary, Island Escape Cruises will have the new all suite WINDWARD PASSAGE delivered in November 2018. She will accommodate 18 passengers to cruise New Zealand and the South Pacific in super yacht comfort and style.

We are to commence year-round cruises in Japan during 2019. The PACIFIC PASSAGE will accommodate 18 guests and sail under the Japanese flag. She will have a full local crew and explore the World Heritage Okinawa Islands and The Inland Sea.

We appreciate your patience and look forward to welcome you to these new small ship cruising experiences.

South Pacific

The peoples of Asia and Oceania have travelled the South Pacific since prehistoric times. The Eastern South Pacific was first sighted by Europeans in the early 16th century.

The ocean’s current name was coined by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan during his circumnavigation of the world in 1521, as he enjoyed favourable winds. He called it Mar Pacífico, which in Portuguese means ‘peaceful sea’.

The Japanese archipelago lies in an almost boundless Pacific Ocean. Surrounded by the sea, with countless islands and headlands of different shapes in higgledy-piggledy topography, the coastline measures almost 30,000 kilometers in length.

The cities and villages are rich with thousands of years of culture while the exquisite natural beauty of the country is simply beyond belief.
