Itinerary

Day 1 - Nukualofa

Guests arriving on sailing day at Tongatapu Airport will be met and transferred to the ship waiting in Nukualofa Harbour. You are greeted with a welcome drink and given beach towels. You have the day to relax and use the ships’ facilities before the safety briefing and departure at 5pm. Chef will charm with his welcome dinner as we cruise across the lagoon to our beautiful dinner anchorage. Later tonight we sail away, with the trade winds behind us, which makes for very pleasant ocean cruising.

Day 1 - Nukualofa

Day 2 - At Sea

Enjoy the scenes and scents of this 300-mile ocean passage. There is a host of activities to keep us amused. Onboard is a wide selection of board and card games, 1,000 movies plus a thorough library. The 1st officer arranges navigation lessons and there is a cooking demonstration by the chef.

Day 2 - At Sea

Days 3-5 - Vanua Balavu Island

It is early morning when we approach Vanua Balavu to clear customs into Fiji and select a comfortable anchorage. The area is absolutely picturesque with steep mountains descending into protected bays of azure blue and emerald green waters. Vanua Balavu, or Long Island, is a long and winding island with uplifted coral in the north, and volcanic landforms in the south. A huge lagoon bounded by a 130-kilometer barrier reef encloses a 37-by-16-kilometer lagoon extending east. One could cruise here for a few days without moving outside of the reefs. It is a well-watered island that has natural hot springs that are large enough to soak in if you feel like visiting to relax in the waters.

Days 3-5 - Vanua Balavu Island

Day 6 - Wailagilala Island

A profound experience where we respectfully observe turtles that will be laying eggs and hatching new baby turtles from October. Also there is great fishing here. Tuna and Wahoo, Walu and Mahi Mahi will certainly keep Chef very happy with new fresh supplies. The sandbar makes for a wonderful place to beachcomb for shells that are washed up on the windward side of the island. We sail through the night for Kia Island to arrive in time for breakfast.

Day 6 - Wailagilala Island

Day 7- Kia Island

This morning we weave between the islets and the long sandy beaches to reach Kia Island. This island is free to explore on the water and on land and we easily engage with the friendly residents during our stay. Later we celebrate a perfect day in paradise with a sunset cocktail on the aft deck and share stories of our day’s adventures.

Day 7- Kia Island

Days 8-9 - Yasawa Islands

In the afternoon be prepared for a very special entertainment. We have a meke (Fijian dancing) and a lovo (feast cooked in the ground) arranged by the local chief at his village. It is a fun-filled night for all involved with ukeleles, singing, dancing on the beach with some kava tasting. Relax for two days in the Yasawa’s.

Days 8-9 - Yasawa Islands

Day 10 - Malolo Island

The tenders are ready to take you to Malolo island. The day is yours to soak up the surrounding sea and landscapes that most mortals only dream about. A must visit is to the Yacht club Island bar that is frequented by locals and yacht owners alike. This iconic sand between the toes beach bar should not be missed. Try not to be too late as we have our farewell dinner onboard tonight.

Day 10 - Malolo Island

Final Day - Farewell at Denarau

Breakfast is served on the deck as we are underway to arrive alongside the Port Denarau wharf at 8am with disembarking at 9am. We wish you safe travels and look forward to welcoming you back onboard soon.

Final Day - Farewell at Denarau

Feedback

We had wonderful holiday supported by a great enthusiastic crew. The snorkelling, swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding in such a beautiful pristine part of the world was superb. An honourable mention must be made for the Chef extraordinaire, he was passionate about every one of his creations and he far exceeded all previous chefs you have had on-board. The crew ensured that we had the best anchorage each evening and allowed us to safely discover the unspoilt islands of French Polynesia. Thanks again
Noel and Judith, NSW
