Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Denarau

For guests arriving in time for our departure on sailing day, we meet you at Nadi International airport and transfer you to the ship in Denerau Marina. If you are already in Fiji, at 3:30pm we meet at Denarau Marina. You have time to relax with the ships’ facilities before the safety briefing and departure at 5pm. Chef will charm you with his welcome dinner as we cruise across the lagoon to our beautiful overnight anchorage.

Day 1 - Welcome to Denarau

Day 2 - Mololo Island

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast served on the aft deck. Towels, chairs, snorkel gear and kayaks are available on the beach. You slip into Fijian time and soak up the surrounding seascapes that most mortals only dream about. After dinner we cruise overnight to arrive Ono Island in time for a refreshing swim before breakfast.

Day 2 - Mololo Island

Day 3/4 - Great Astrolabe Reef

The Great Astrolabe Reef is one of the largest barrier reefs in the world and encompasses Kadavu Island, Ono Island and other small islands within a natural protective lagoon. The reef is a breeding ground for many large billfish species, tuna, giant trevally, mahi-mahi, sharks, and snapper due to many channels leading from extremely deep water into shallow lagoons. Snorkel, swim, kayak and paddleboard haven. We lift the anchor at midnight for Aneityum Island in Vanuatu.

Day 3/4 - Great Astrolabe Reef

Day 5/6 - At Sea

Enjoy the scenes and scents of the ocean. There is a host of activities to keep us amused. Onboard is a wide selection of board and card games, 1,000 movies plus a thorough library. The 1st officer arranges navigation lessons and there is a special surprise for the guest who is first to sight land.

Day 5/6 - At Sea

Day 7 - Tanna Island

The glowing light of Mount Yasur attracted Capt James Cook in August 1774, where he landed and named Port Resolution after his ship HMS Resolution. We follow in his steps but also venture up Mount Yasur. It has been erupting nearly continuously for several hundred years, although it can usually be approached safely. Its eruptions, which often occur several times an hour, are classified as Strombolian or Vulcanian. We stay overnight at anchor and during dinner watch the same glow that attracted Capt Cook.

Day 7 - Tanna Island

Day 8 - At Sea

A shorter leg to enter New Caledonia. We leave Cooks' cove after breakfast and cruise 20 hours to arrive at the beautiful Isle of Pines. Captain has another reward for the first passenger to sight a pine tree.

Day 8 - At Sea

Day 9 - Isle of Pines

The area around Kuto may very well prove to be one of the cruise highlights. This group of islands is located on the north east side of the lagoon where a wide variety of water activities have been planned. These islands are typical of the South Seas by having white sandy beaches fringed with tropical rainforest. Snorkelling, swimming, long beach walks and visits to the nearby villages make this a memorable and relaxing day in our paradise.

Day 9 - Isle of Pines

Day 10 - Isle of Pines

We venture to the eastern side of the island to the beautiful Oro Bay. It is seldom visited so be prepared to tramp through a riverbed and swim in the most beautiful natural swimming pool. The white sand and turquoise waters is great for the soul. In the late afternoon we move to our Kuto anchorage for the evening.

Day 10 - Isle of Pines

Day 11 - Ilot Mato

This morning we leave Kuto and head towards Ilot Mato. This small chain of reefs provides a beautifully protected anchorage. There is a small trail leading to the top of the 40 metre high island that gives a view of the anchorage and the matrix of coral reefs. Island walks will reveal the island’s birdlife while the afternoon snorkelers are likely to encounter the local sea turtles.

Day 11 - Ilot Mato

Day 12 - Islot Maitre

We depart Mato after breakfast and everywhere we look there is another small, white sand tropical island. From the top deck, Islot Maitre comes into view with the beautiful L’escapade Island Resort. Fabulous white sand beaches and a large reef that is perfect for snorkelling. The Captains farewell dinner is from 7.00pm on the aft deck with Noumea lights in the background.

Day 12 - Islot Maitre

Final Day - Farewell/Au Revoir

This morning enjoy an early sumptuous breakfast. We arrive alongside the wharf at 9.30am with disembarking completed by 10.00am. Noumea has an open-air market located next to the waterfront presenting the perfect opportunity to purchase local art and craft. Please make sure you swap addresses with your fellow adventures and bid your goodbyes to the crew.

Final Day - Farewell/Au Revoir

Feedback

We had wonderful holiday supported by a great enthusiastic crew. The snorkelling, swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding in such a beautiful pristine part of the world was superb. An honourable mention must be made for the Chef extraordinaire, he was passionate about every one of his creations and he far exceeded all previous chefs you have had on-board.The crew ensured that we had the best anchorage each evening and allowed us to safely discover the unspoilt islands of French Polynesia. Thanks again
Noel and Judith, NSW
